The Sumner Stingrays extended their postseason success on Friday against the Durant Cougars. They enjoyed a cozy 40-25 win over the Cougars. The win was nothing new for Sumner as they're now sitting on six straight.
It was another big night for Greg Smith III, who threw for 234 yards and five touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes. Malik Brown was another key contributor, picking up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Durant still got an impressive performance from Damari Styles, who picked up 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Sumner pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.11 points. As for Durant, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.
Sumner will play host again and welcome Plant, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Plant will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. Durant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
