Four Rivers recap October 1, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Blake Hulsey and Jake Siddens connected against St. Clair. The connection went for 98 yards, the longest such play in Four Rivers this season.
Union moved up to 117 from 147 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats were able to move up by beating the Bulldogs 49-21.
Union's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hulsey threw for 435 and 4 touchdowns and Siddens had 140 yards receiving. On the ground Hulsey contributed 90 yards. Logan Bellamy helped Union's passing attack out by catching 10 balls for 119 yards.
He was 25-37 with 0 interception.
Collin Kloeppel was a key player and the best on defense this week as Erick Webster's team topped St. Clair. He grabbed 2.0 sacks.
Hulsey put up the best numbers through the air as the Wildcats bested the Bulldogs. Hulsey's favorite target this week was Siddens, who caught 3 passes for 140 yards.
Union's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hulsey has thrown for 1,734 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Bellamy has 34 catches for 547 yards. Hulsey also leads the league in rushing with 444 yards.
An important game coming up in Four Rivers this week will be when Sullivan takes on Hermann. At the moment, the Eagles are in second, while the Bearcats are in fourth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Sullivan takes on Hermann. Patrick Burke's team has allowed 101 points this season, while the Bearcats have given up 81.
