The Uniondale Knights won the last time they faced the Freeport Red Devils, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Uniondale came out on top against Freeport by a score of 52-41. That looming 52-41 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Uniondale yet this season.
Despite the loss, Freeport had strong showings from Elijah Darby, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, and Jevon Saul, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Darby is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
The victory got Uniondale back to even at 2-2. As for Freeport, they bumped their record down to 5-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Uniondale will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hempstead at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hempstead knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully Uniondale likes a good challenge. As for Freeport, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oceanside at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Oceanside and Freeport are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
