The Belmont Sentinels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 11th straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 97-35 loss at the hands of Bernstein. Belmont has struggled against the Dragons recently, as their matchup on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Bernstein's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Troy Agtang led the charge by scoring 22 points along with two steals. Agtang has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Cordero, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Belmont's defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-18. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.6 points per game. As for Bernstein, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belmont will take on the Cobras at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bernstein, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Dons at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
