The Williams Yellowjackets have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They managed a 55-49 win over Hamilton on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Williams also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Williams found their leader in underclassman Diego Ambriz, who scored 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ambriz has scored all season. Kyden Bowen was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Despite the defeat, Hamilton saw an underclassman step up: Kayden Strong dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. Strong hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Caden Stickney, who scored 15 points along with five assists and two steals.
Williams' win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12. As for Hamilton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williams will take on CORE Butte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hamilton, they will be playing at home against Los Molinos at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Los Molinos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
