After three games on the road, Skyline is heading back home. They will take on the Meridian Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyline will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Meridian is ranked 100th).
Last Friday, Skyline came up short against Sherando and fell 51-40. Skyline has not had much luck with Sherando recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, Meridian can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fauquier 58-23 at home. With Meridian ahead 32-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Meridian can attribute much of their success to Ellie Friesen, who scored 20 points, and Maureen Tremblay, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Tremblay is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nora Stufft, who scored seven points.
Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Meridian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
