The Freeport Pretzels won the last time they faced the Jefferson J-Hawks, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Freeport came out on top against the J-Hawks by a score of 58-48.
Freeport's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaeden Marion led the charge by scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Kazion Morehead, who scored nine points along with four steals and two blocks.
Freeport is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Jefferson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.
Freeport will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hononegah is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Jefferson, they will head out on the road to face off against the E-Rabs at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Rockford East focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Wednesday.
