The Fox Creek Predators entered their tilt with the Silver Bluff Bulldogs with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Fox Creek walked away with a 58-47 win over the Bulldogs on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fox Creek also won the last time the pair played on January 8th.
Fox Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brelan Baskett led the charge by scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Kobe Sims was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Silver Bluff lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Deshawn Wells, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. It was the first time this season that Wells scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrell Williams, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Fox Creek has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Silver Bluff, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fox Creek's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Pelion will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Predators are ranked 110th). As for Silver Bluff, they will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Batesburg-Leesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
