Ava had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Mountain Grove on Thursday. The Bears were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Bears have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Ava has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain Grove, they dropped their record down to 7-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ava will head out to square off against Willow Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Willow Springs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Ava surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mountain Grove, they will venture away from home to take on Cabool at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
