The Antelope Titans can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Yuba City by a score of 74-62. Given Antelope's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Honkers are ranked 757th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Logan Melton was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Quentin Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Yuba City still got an impressive performance from Alex Saavedra, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 2 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Saleem Rafiq, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Yuba City struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Antelope pulled down ten offensive rebounds.
Antelope's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Yuba City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
Antelope will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. River Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Yuba City, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Inderkum knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully the Honkers like a good challenge.
