Even though the Ida Baker Bulldogs scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, the Cypress Lake Panthers still came out on top. Cypress Lake took their game against the Bulldogs 66-56. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cypress Lake.
Cypress Lake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elias Jones, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Andrew White, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Cypress Lake is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. As for Ida Baker, they dropped their record down to 1-20 with that loss, which was their 24th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Cypress Lake will face off against the Pirates at TBD on Thursday. Port Charlotte presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Florida (the Pirates are ranked 145th, while the Panthers are ranked 357th). Ida Baker is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Red Knights at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th.
