Brush is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Fort Morgan is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Beetdiggers will host the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Brush is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Strasburg 13-1 on Wednesday. The Beetdiggers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Ben Mettlen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Brush's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Mettlen was also big at the plate, getting three hits from his three at bats. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Trae Romero was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Mesch, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Brush kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Strasburg only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Fort Morgan made easy work of Fort Lupton on Monday and carried off a 31-5 win. Considering the Mustangs have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Brush, Fort Morgan also got a great game from a two-way player: Cooper Chisum. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Chisum was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Fort Morgan got a massive performance out of Samson Ortega, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Angel Lopez was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Brush's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Fort Morgan, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Brush has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fort Morgan struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Brush's way against Fort Morgan when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Brush made off with a 14-4 victory. Do the Beetdiggers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
