Ponte Vedra is a perfect 3-0 against Middleburg since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ponte Vedra lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Fleming Island, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Sharks put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 35-9 victory last Friday. Given the Sharks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 144th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of Ponte Vedra's win came down to the chemistry between Cole Rosendahl and his top target Jack Berquist. Rosendahl threw for 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Berquist picked up 101 receiving yards and two scores. Rosendahl's passing game has become a key predictor of Ponte Vedra's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.
Ponte Vedra was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 202 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Ponte Vedra's defense and their four sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Reece Beck, JP Dolan, and Hudson Hauseman, who each picked up one sack apiece. Ponte Vedra got some further help from Talan Babin: he made 13 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, while Middleburg put up some points last Friday, the same can't be said for Orange Park. The Broncos blew past the Raiders 28-0. The Broncos' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Ponte Vedra better keep an eye on Gino Addison. He was instrumental in Middleburg's win, rushing for 173 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Travis Pinkard also helped out as he racked up 113 rushing yards.
Ponte Vedra's record now sits at 4-2. As for Middleburg, their record is now 6-0.
Everything came up roses for Ponte Vedra against Middleburg in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 52-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sharks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
