The Woodsboro Eagles were the 77-48 winner over the Refugio Bobcats when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Woodsboro fell just short of Refugio by a score of 64-62. Woodsboro has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Woodsboro lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jordan Garcia, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Amarian Zambezi, who scored 17 points.
Woodsboro has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Refugio, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Woodsboro will look to defend their home court on Friday against Skidmore-Tynan at 7:45 p.m. Skidmore-Tynan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Woodsboro in Texas (Skidmore-Tynan is ranked 674th, while Woodsboro is ranked 1458th). As for Refugio, they will head out on the road to face off against Port Aransas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
