The Lake Blue Streaks will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Dover Crimson Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Lake lost to Hoover at home by a decisive 41-23 margin. While losing is never fun, Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 775th, while Hoover is ranked 306th).
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Dover's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. The matchup between Dover and Bishop Hartley wasn't particularly close, with Dover falling 51-36. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dover has scored all season.
Lake's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Dover, their loss dropped their record down to 6-1.
Lake came up short against Dover when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 50-42. Can Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
