The Sharpstown Apollos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 62-43 to Galena Park. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sharpstown of the 55-50 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.
Sharpstown's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jhase Eaton, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kunye Ward, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Sharpstown has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-22 record this season. As for Galena Park, their win bumped their record up to 10-15.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Austin the next time they take the court. Galena Park will head out to face Austin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Sharpstown will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
