The Mountain View Spartans will take on the Los Altos Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Mountain View needed a bit of extra time to put away Palo Alto. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Vikings. Seven seems to be a good number for the Spartans as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Caroline Kim spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mountain View secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Eden Jamtgaard, who went 1-for-4 with one run.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Los Altos made sure to put some runs up on the board against Gunn on Tuesday. The Eagles blew past the Titans 10-3. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Los Altos let Makayla Mase and Lily Whiting run wild. Mase got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Whiting went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Sabrina Neal was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Mountain View's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Los Altos, they now have a winning record of 8-7-2.
Los Altos' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Mountain View has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Los Altos, though, as they've been averaging only 1.8 strikeouts. Will Mountain View keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
Mountain View couldn't quite finish off Los Altos in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 and fell 5-3. Will the Spartans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
