The DeSoto Central Jaguars won the last time they faced the Horn Lake Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. DeSoto Central took down Horn Lake 29-12. The win made it back-to-back wins for DeSoto Central.
DeSoto Central found their leader in underclassman Eric Perry, who rushed for 27 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 173 yards and a touchdown. Ty Holmes also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.
DeSoto Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Horn Lake, their loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DeSoto Central will challenge Lewisburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Lewisburg is ranked 42nd, while DeSoto Central is ranked 58th). As for Horn Lake, they will head out on the road to face off against Southaven at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
