The Tornillo Coyotes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 15th straight loss. They were dealt a 80-24 loss at the hands of Alpine. Tornillo has struggled against Alpine recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Alpine was led to victory by Hope Dominguez and Novah Carrasco. Dominguez scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and six steals, while Carrasco dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Carrasco has scored at least 25% of Alpine's points. Neveah Carrasco was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Tornillo bumped their record down to 1-15 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.3 points per game. As for Alpine, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-14.
Tornillo will head out on the road to face off against Presidio at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Presidio and Tornillo are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Alpine, they will be playing at home against Kermit at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Kermit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
