The St. Luke's Storm had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Rye Country Day by a score of 72-65 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
St. Luke's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Sommers, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Finn, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
St. Luke's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Rye Country Day, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-3.
St. Luke's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Greens Farms Academy at 4:45 p.m. on January 25th. Rye Country Day will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Riverdale Country at 9:30 a.m. on January 27th.
