Nandua is 9-1 against Chincoteague since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Nandua Warriors will look to defend their home court against the Chincoteague Ponies at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
After a string of three wins, Nandua's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 74-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northampton. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (59), Nandua still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Chincoteague's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Arcadia 94-58. While losing is never fun, Chincoteague can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while Arcadia is ranked 155th).
Nandua dropped their record down to 6-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Chincoteague, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Nandua strolled past Chincoteague in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 81-65. Does Nandua have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chincoteague turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
