Basketball Recap: Aaron Lake Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Beaver Falls

Ellwood City's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Beaver Falls Tigers by a score of 57-45. The Wolverine have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Ellwood City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaron Lake, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 boards. Lake is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Servick, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Ellwood City pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Beaver Falls, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coincidentally, Ellwood City and Beaver Falls will both be playing Aliquippa the next time they take the court. Ellwood City will host Aliquippa at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Beaver Falls will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
