Volleyball Recap: Fulton's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

If Mexico wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Fulton, they should've done a better job of containing Bre Knighten. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs on Monday thanks in part to Knighten, who had 14 kills, nine digs, and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last 18 games she's played dating back to last season.

Fulton's got stronger as the match went on, holding Mexico to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 25-14.

Fulton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tatum Dailey, who had 16 digs and one assist. The team also got some help courtesy of Estella Vanschenkhof, who had four digs and two aces.

Fulton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They are a perfect 4-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

The victory snapped Fulton's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-5 record. As for Mexico, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Fulton will be playing in front of their home fans against New Bloomfield at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mexico, they will host Kirksville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
