The Santa Fe Wildcats put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past McEwen with points to spare, taking the game 66-47. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Santa Fe also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Auden Slaughter was his usual excellent self, scoring 38 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Santa Fe's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Macon Adkison, who scored 20 points along with 5 assists.
Santa Fe's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for McEwen, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Fe will take on Eagleville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eagleville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 220th, while Santa Fe is ranked 68th). As for McEwen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Perry County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Perry County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
