The South Hills Huskies will take on the Schurr Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (South Hills 3.4, Schurr 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Abigail Quintero was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jayden Garcia and Charli Moreno stepped up to the plate in a big way. Garcia went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Moreno went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Sta. Ana, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, Schurr never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against Montebello as they made off with a 24-0 win. Considering the Spartans have won 15 contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Amanda Gonzalez and Sophia De Santiago made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Gonzalez pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, De Santiago tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At bat, Gonzalez went 1-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while De Santiago went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits De Santiago has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Schurr got a massive performance out of Mia Gonzales, who went 4-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave Gonzales a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Angela Perez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Schurr kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Schurr is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for South Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. South Hills hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Schurr struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
