Gatewood is 8-2 against Augusta Prep since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Gators simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat the Rebels 76-44. The Gators pushed the score to 68-32 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rebels cut but never quite recovered from.
Gatewood found their leader in sophomore Bennett Haley, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 23 points in addition to six assists and five steals. Another player making a difference was Landon Moreno, who went 7-for-8 to rack up 16 points and three steals.
Gatewood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Augusta Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Evans.
