The First Academy Royals had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 33-22 victory over Foundation Academy on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as The First Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January.
The First Academy can attribute much of their success to Joy Porter, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Raziah Henderson was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 11 rebounds and 3 steals.
Marsala Vouriotis and Emma Parker certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Vouriotis scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds, while Parker scored 5 points along with 7 steals.
The First Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Foundation Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
The First Academy will head out on the road to face off against The Villages Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Foundation Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinity Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
