Southside is 7-1 against Jones since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Southside Seahawks will head out on the road to face off against the Jones Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Southside will be strutting in after a victory while Jones will be coming in after a defeat.
Southside can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 40-7 win over East Carteret. Southside didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.
TeQuon Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 150 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also catching a touchdown. Myquan Clark was in the mix as well, providing Southside with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Jones, who are still winless after their ninth game. They had to suffer through a rough 55-0 loss at the hands of Pamlico County. Jones was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Southside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season. As for Jones, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Everything came up roses for Southside against Jones in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 47-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southside since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
