Brooks College Prep extended the longest winning streak in Chicago Public Illini - Heartland this week by beating Perspectives Charter/Perspectives Leadership, 48-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
John Hope College Prep fell to Chicago Vocational 60-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Harper's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. David Harvey threw for 135 yards and Sandillo Wright had 53 yards receiving. On the ground Harvey contributed 95 yards. Devin Davis helped Harper's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 45 yards.
Wright was the best receiver in the league this week as the Cardinals lost to Morgan Park. Wright tallied 3 receptions for 53 yards. Davis helped Harper's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 45 yards.
Harper's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cardinals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Harvey has thrown for 991 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Davis has 15 catches for 426 yards.
Collins Academy made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,391 from 12,619. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 14-13 victory over Foreman last week.
