The Banning Pilots extended their postseason success on Friday against the Crenshaw Cougars. They walked away with a 35-28 victory over the Cougars. Winning may never get old, but Banning sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Banning got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Steven Perez out in front who rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Perez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Villanueva, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown.
Banning's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Crenshaw, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.
Banning will look to defend their home field on December 2nd against La Jolla Country Day at 7:00 p.m. La Jolla Country Day's defense has only allowed 17.5 points per game this season, so Banning's offense will have their work cut out for Banning. Crenshaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
