Richmond has struggled against New Palestine recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Richmond lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cedric Horton. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points. Horton is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Carpenter, who scored 13 points.
Richmond's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-1. As for New Palestine, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richmond will take on Centerville at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Centerville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Richmond is ranked 18th). As for New Palestine, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Roncalli at 7:30 p.m.
