AAAAA Region 3 recap October 8, 2013
Bradwell Institute scaled the state rankings by moving to 249 from 277 this week, the biggest jump in AAAAA Region 3. The Tigers climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Jenkins 45-32.
Ware County extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Glynn Academy, 21-19. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Gators.
Richmond Hill's dynamic duo of Troy Fortson and Nasim Dubose proved to be unstoppable against Groves, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fortson threw for 20 yards and 1 touchdown and Dubose had 36 yards receiving. Aaron Chick helped Richmond Hill's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 20 yards.
LaBaron Anthony provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Bradwell Institute bested the Warriors. He completed 4 passes for 79 yards and also ran for 131 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Effingham County takes on the Wildcats. At the moment, the Rebels are in third, while Richmond Hill is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Effingham County takes on Lyman Guy's team. Buddy Holder's team has allowed 78 points this season, while the Wildcats have given up 61. The Rebels allowed 0 points last week as they topped Windsor Forest.
The Knights fell to Effingham County 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
