The Olympus Titans were the 73-38 winner over the Alta Hawks when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Olympus fell 60-48 to Alta on Tuesday. Olympus found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up seven fewer assists than your opponent.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keily Trabanino, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Joss Baker was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Leafa Niumeitolu was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with four steals for Alta. Niumeitolu has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aolele Liavaa, who scored ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Olympus' loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Alta, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.
Olympus will stay at home for another game and welcome East at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Alta, they will head out on the road to square off against Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Brighton is ranked 29th, while Alta is ranked 24th).
