Chester is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Strath Haven is on a ten-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Chester Clippers will take on the Strath Haven Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Chester: 11.5, Strath Haven: 13.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Chester had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They snuck past the Golden Knights with a 26-20 victory. Given Chester's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Bayard Rustin is ranked 88th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chester relied on the efforts of Jalen Harris, who threw for 127 yards and two touchdowns, and Larry Mcdaniel, who rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Strath Haven sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 win over Springfield on Friday.
Their wins bumped Chester to 12-1 and Bayard Rustin to 10-2.
