After soaring to 66 points the game before, the Fultondale Wildcats were a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They were dealt a 59-9 loss at the hands of Pinson Valley. While losing is never fun, Fultondale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Pinson Valley is ranked 105th).
Pinson Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aniya Brown led the charge by scoring 14 points along with 3 steals. Raven Lewis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Fultondale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Pinson Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fultondale will face off against Clay-Chalkville at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Clay-Chalkville is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. Pinson Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Paul W. Bryant at 6:00 p.m. on November 28th. Paul W. Bryant is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
