The Bellows Falls Terriers are taking a road trip to take on the Brattleboro Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Bellows Falls is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Bellows Falls took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Otter Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Terriers won by a run and slipped past the Otters 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Terriers have posted since May 3, 2024.

Izzy Stoodley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bellows Falls saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Delaney Stoodley, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Those hits marked the first that Stoodley has got this season.

Bellows Falls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Otter Valley only posted a batting average of .179.

Agawam hit Brattleboro with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears lost 13-2 to the Brownies.

Bellows Falls' win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Brattleboro, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Bellows Falls' way against Brattleboro in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Bellows Falls made off with a 16-7 win. Do the Terriers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
