Tri-State Christian has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Galesburg Christian Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Tri-State Christian suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 67-43 loss at the hands of Quad Cities Christian. Tri-State Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-20.
Despite the loss, Tri-State Christian got a solid performance out of Will Cunningham, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Vannorsdel, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Galesburg Christian came up short against Morning Star Academy on Tuesday and fell 39-29. Galesburg Christian has struggled against Morning Star Academy recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Tri-State Christian's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for Galesburg Christian, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Tri-State Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Galesburg Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 52-48 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Galesburg Christian's Carson Esters, who scored 36 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
