After a string of four wins, Rio Rico's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 70-54 to the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Thunderbolts from their previous meeting back in February.

Mica Mountain's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isabella Webb, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and 13 assists. Webb is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kayley Sutton, who went 9 of 14 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds.

Rio Rico's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Mica Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Rio Rico will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Walden Grove at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Mica Mountain, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-45 loss against Sunnyside on the 19th.
