After each having a week off, the Gibbs Gladiators and the Nature Coast Tech Sharks will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Gibbs lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Hollins, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Gladiators simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat the Royals 47-6. That looming 47-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Gladiators yet this season.

| 11/01/24 @ Hollins | 94.9 |
Jordan Calvin went supernova, throwing for 157 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, while also punching in one score on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (146.8). Steven Alexis helped Calvin out on the ground, rushing for 62 yards and one TD on only seven carries.
Gibbs didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Hollins to a completion percentage of just 30%. The team can thank Juan Jones for the heroic effort on defense: he. Gibbs wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 63.6%.
Gibbs didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Jones led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Gibbs is 3-1 when Jones posts one or more interceptions, but 1-5 otherwise. Jones got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Nature Coast Tech's offense rose to the challenge against a Leopards defense that boasted an average of only 11.3 points allowed two weeks ago. The Sharks took their contest with ease, bagging a 35-6 victory over Hernando. The Sharks pushed the score to 35-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Leopards cut but never quite recovered from.
Gibbs better keep an eye on Cashis Williams. He was instrumental in Nature Coast Tech's win, rushing for 164 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 20 yards and one touchdown. Williams' longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Nature Coast Tech's defense made their presence known, laying out Michael Saltsman six times. Dakota Mitchell was especially locked on to Hernando's QB and sacked him twice.
Gibbs' win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Nature Coast Tech, their record now sits at 8-2.
