The Downers Grove North Trojans had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.4 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They blew past Oak Park-River Forest 67-21 on the road. With Downers Grove North ahead 42-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Kaitlyn Parker was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with two steals. She hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizzy Murphy, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Oak Park-River Forest saw an underclassman step up: Gabriella Chesney scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chesney has scored all season.
Downers Grove North is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season. As for Oak Park-River Forest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-20.
