The Alvarado Indians can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 62-25 win over Venus at home. The victory was nothing new for Alvarado as they're now sitting on four straight.
Leading Alvarado to victory were Joslyn Jarmon and Candra Bridgewater. Jarmon dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals, while Bridgewater scored 25 points along with seven steals. Jarmon has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 22 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Cross, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Alvarado pushed their record up to 16-14 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Venus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 15 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season.
Alvarado will square off against Hillsboro at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hillsboro focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Tuesday. As for Venus, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Life Waxahachie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Life Waxahachie and five for Venus.
