The Treasure Coast Titans entered their tilt with the Vero Beach Indians with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Treasure Coast took down Vero Beach 64-47 on Friday. Given Treasure Coast's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Vero Beach is ranked 336th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Treasure Coast had a senior duo take command as Tyson Wilson almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists and Tyler Shelton scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Wilson posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Dejuan Preston, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Vero Beach still got an impressive performance from Jayden Peart, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Ferguson, who scored five points.
Treasure Coast has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Vero Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Treasure Coast will take on Royal Palm Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Royal Palm Beach has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. As for Vero Beach, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jensen Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jensen Beach has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 317 points over their last five matchups.
