The Bixby Spartans won against the Ponca City Wildcats last Tuesday with 74 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Bixby strolled past the Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 74-57. The win was nothing new for Bixby as they're now sitting on three straight.
When it comes to explaining why Ponca City lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tay Moore. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 43.9% of Ponca City's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Adriel Miller was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Bixby pushed their record up to 11-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Ponca City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
Coincidentally, Bixby and the Wildcats will both be playing the Tigers the next time they take the court. Bixby will host the Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
