Basketball Recap: Tobey White's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crismon over Poston Butte

Crismon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Poston Butte Broncos, falling 57-36. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rattlers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-58 back in January.

Several Rattlers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tobey White, who posted 11 points. That's the most points White has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mason Brown, who earned 12 points.

It was another big night for Dutch Martinez Jr, who went 9 of 16 en route to 21 points in addition to eight boards and five assists for Poston Butte. The team also got some help courtesy of Ike Robinson, who put up ten points and eight rebounds.

Crismon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Poston Butte, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-14.

Crismon and Poston Butte could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. Crismon will challenge ALA - Gilbert North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday down 228 places (271 vs. 43). Similarly, Poston Butte (ranked 223rd) will meet ALA - Queen Creek (ranked 72nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
