The Ponderosa Bruins fought the good fight in their overtime match against the West Park Panthers on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Ponderosa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Keenan Patterson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. Patterson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Bays, who scored six points along with three steals.
Ponderosa now has a losing record at 12-13. As for West Park, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-6.
Ponderosa will head out on the road to face off against the Fighting Zebras at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for West Park, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Hillmen at 7:30 p.m. Placer is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
