The Pine Bush Bushmen lost against the Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pine Bush was dealt a 94-43 loss at the hands of Monroe-Woodbury. Pine Bush was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-22.
Monroe-Woodbury had a senior duo take command as Christopher Pearson scored 26 points along with three steals and Jankarlos Mendoza scored 20 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Pearson has scored at least 25% of Monroe-Woodbury's points. Another player making a difference was Jadon Carnegie, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Pine Bush now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Monroe-Woodbury, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Pine Bush will head out on the road to face off against Beacon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monroe-Woodbury, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Newburgh Free Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Newburgh Free Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Monroe-Woodbury is ranked tenth).
