Hitchcock County suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 59-32 loss at the hands of Alma. Hitchcock County has not had much luck with Alma recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Hitchcock County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Katie Jarecke, who scored nine points, was perhaps the best of all. Asia Homma was another key contributor, scoring three points along with two steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Paxton gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They put the hurt on Wallace with a sharp 53-31 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-10.
Jacelyn Jorgensen was her usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigale Nicholson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Hitchcock County has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Paxton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
