Baseball Recap: Coalgate Extends Winning Streak to Four

Coalgate came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Wynnewood Savages get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Jett Walkup, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Wynnewood off the board. Walkup also tossed a walk, which is notable because Coalgate is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 11-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jett Burris was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Jase Burris was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Coalgate's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Wynnewood, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 25-7.

Coalgate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wynnewood, they will head out to face off against Dibble at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
