The South Hagerstown Rebels will head out on the road to square off against the Williamsport Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in South Hagerstown's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
South Hagerstown pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Oakdale 63-57.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Williamsport, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-49 loss to Walkersville on Monday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Williamsport in their matchups with Walkersville: they've now lost four in a row.
Williamsport's defeat came about despite a quality game from Ceonta Wilmore, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jahmeir Byrd, who scored ten points.
South Hagerstown has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Williamsport, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
South Hagerstown beat Williamsport 65-52 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Hagerstown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
