The Wilton-Lyndeborough Warriors will square off against the Concord Christian Kingsmen at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Wilton-Lyndeborough is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Wilton-Lyndeborough's last matchup with Nute could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Warriors came up short against the Rams, falling 7-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Meanwhile, while Concord Christian put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Pittsfield. The Kingsmen blew past the Panthers 13-0. Considering the Kingsmen have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Daniel Stopyro made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Stopyro was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Grady St Jean was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. TJ Charbono was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Concord Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Concord Christian pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wilton-Lyndeborough, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Wilton-Lyndeborough couldn't quite finish off Concord Christian in their previous matchup back in April and fell 4-2. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
